WHEREAS, The Corporation for National and Community Service is sponsoring the National Conference on Volunteering and Service on June 4th-8th, 2011 in New Orleans, LA; and
 
WHEREAS, The Corporation for National and Community Service has provided funding to allow William Tully, staff to Mayor Coleman, to attend the conference, paying his conference registration fees and expenses, including round trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and per diem for all expenses to not exceed $2,500; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that attendance at the Conference will fulfill a public purpose by giving the Mayor's
staff the opportunity to meet with leaders in the fields of National Service and Volunteerism from across the country and share strategies for engaging service members in local communities;  
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City accepts the gift of conference registration fees at a cost not to exceed $500, airfare/ground transportation at a cost not to exceed $550, hotel at a cost not to exceed $800, and meal accommodations at a cost not to exceed $71 per day for William Tully and for all expenses to not exceed $2,500; and
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that the City thanks The Corporation for National and Community Service for this opportunity.
