Title
Accepting a grant from the Metropolitan Council for Stormwater and Green Infrastructure planning along the Central Corridor.

Body
WHEREAS, the construction of the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit line creates a unique opportunity to leverage substantial investment for the physical, economic, and social development of the communities along the Central Corridor; and

WHEREAS, the City of Saint strives to be a leader in sustainable urban living; and

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, in conjunction with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the United States Department of Transportation, has awarded the Metropolitan Council, a Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant in the amount of $5,000,000; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has made a sub-awarded of funds in the amount of $370,000 to the City of Saint Paul for the purpose of stormwater and green infrastructure planning for the Central Corridor; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul does hereby certify that $370,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2011 budget and recommends the following changes to the 2011 budget:
