Appeal of Lisa Hollingsworth, Southern Minnesota Regional Services, on behalf of Patricia DeLaCruz to a Notice of Condemnation Unfit for Human Habitation Order to Vacate 573 CHARLES AVENUE.
Purpose of Appeal
The family living at 573 Charles first learned of the inspection of their unit on May 2, 2011 when Inspector Martin arrived at their door. Since then, they have taken steps to address all life/safety issues within their control. The family will continue to address lingering issues with dog feces and mold. Al Harris from SMRLS is working with the family to monitor their progress and provide suggestions for improvement. The family has nowhere to go and will be made homeless by this condemnation.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Lisa Hollinsworth, Southern Minnesota Regional Services, on behalf of Patricia DeLaCruz to a Notice of Condemnation Unfit for Human Habitation Order to Vacate 573 CHARLES AVENUE, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, a Legislative Hearing was conducted on May 10, 2011, and the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council deny the appeal and grant an extension to June 1, 2011 to vacate the property; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
