Title

Accepting payment for certain lands for trunk highway purposes for reconstruction of the Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge.

Body

WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, by its Commissioner of Transportation, has petitioned in state district court for the condemnation of certain lands for trunk highway purposes, for reconstruction of the Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge; and

WHEREAS, the petitions name the City of Saint Paul as owners of certain lands to be acquired by the state; and

WHEREAS, the City has no objection to the transfer of title and possession of the lands referred to in the attached Stipulation of Award for Parcel 203, and the attached Stipulation of Award for Parcel 251G, subject to payment of just compensation; and

WHEREAS, the state has duly appraised said lands and offered to compensate the City for the amount of such appraised value.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

a.  The City hereby accepts payment in the amount of $69,900 for the property described in attached Exhibit A.

b.  The City hereby accepts payment in the amount of $425,000 as compensation for the property described in attached Exhibit B.

c.  The City Council hereby authorizes appropriate City staff to execute each of the Stipulations of Award and to take any additional actions necessary to complete said transfers and to accept payment therefor.
