Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation budget in the amount of $24,000 to accept a grant from the Lessard-Sams Conservation Partners Legacy Grant program to enhance thirteen acres of oak woodland and oak savanna at the Highwood Nature Preserve.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has received a grant to enhance thirteen acres of oak woodland and oak savanna at the Highwood Nature Preserve, per City Council resolution #10-1199 adopted 11/24/2010, and;
 
WHEREAS, project work will occur within unique forest restoration opportunities identified within a site-specific management plan, and;
 
WHEREAS, grant funds were awarded by the Lessard-Sams Conservation Partners Legacy (CPL) grant program, administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, in the amount of $24,000, and;
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $24,000, in excess of those estimated in the 2011 Capital Improvement Budget, and;
 
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council and the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the positive advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $24,000 is available for appropriation in the 2011 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2011 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis.
 
CIB Recommendation
The St. Paul Long-Range Capital Improvement Budget (CIB) Committee received this request on April 11, 2011 and recommends approval.
