Accepting a gift of conference registration, travel and hotel accommodations from The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities for Nancy Homans to attend their annual conference and participate in a panel entitled Working with Government - The Promise and the Problems.

WHEREAS, The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities held its annual conference on March 21-23, 2011 in Detroit, MI; and
WHEREAS, The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities invited Nancy Homans, staff to Mayor Chris Coleman, to participate in a panel entitled, Working with Government-The Promise and the Problems; and
WHEREAS, The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities offered to pay her conference registration fee valued at $425 and expenses, including round trip airfare, not to exceed $578, and hotel accommodations, not to exceed $400; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that attendance at the meeting will fulfill a public purpose by giving the Mayors
staff the opportunity to meet with representatives of cities and foundations throughout the country and discuss strategies for implementation of policy objectives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City accepts the gift of airfare at a cost not to exceed $578, hotel at a cost not to exceed $600 and conference registration valued at $425 for Nancy Homans; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the City thanks The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities for this opportunity.
