Transferring funds in the Parks and Recreation CIB Budget ($60,449.58) from the Old Highland Bath House Roof Capital Project to the new Highland Bath House project to deal with unexpected construction issues.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the 2009 Capital Improvement Budget includes capital improvement funding in the amount of $75,000 for improvements to the roof of the old Highland bathhouse; and
 
WHEREAS, this funding was the result of the Xcel Energy refund payment in 2009; and
 
WHEREAS, The Highland Pool bathhouse project is under way; and
 
WHEREAS, as part of the Highland Pool Bathhouse Project, underground electrical systems were to be re-used; and
 
WHEREAS, during the construction of this project, the underground electrical systems were deemed unacceptable; and
 
WHEREAS, the budget for the old Highland Pool bathhouse project has expended $14,550.42 on design and engineering to date; and
 
WHEREAS, to continue the Highland Pool bathhouse project, $60,449.58 is needed to fund the replacement of the electrical system; and
 
WHEREAS, the Old Highland Pool Bathhouse Project is in the developmental stages of planning and not yet under construction; and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that $60,449.58 is available for transfer from the Old Highland Pool Bathhouse Project to the new Highland Pool Bathhouse Project which will enable construction to continue; now, therefore be it
 
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $60,449.58 is available for appropriation to the 2010 Capital Improvement Budget
