Accepting Contamination Cleanup Grants from the Department of Employment and Economic Development and the Metropolitan Council for the Hazelden/615 Drake, Schmidt Brewery Bottle and Brew House, West Side Flats, and Pioneer/Endicott Sites, and amending the 2011 Budget.

WHEREAS, the City Council on October 27, 2010, by Resolution number 10-1051 authorized the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Department of Employment and Economic Development for Contamination Cleanup Grants and to the Metropolitan Council for Tax Base Revitalization grants; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Employment and Economic Development approved Contamination Cleanup Grants of $534,562 for the Hazelden/615 Drake site and $770,064 for the Schmidt Brewery Bottle and Brew House, and the Metropolitan Council approved Tax Base Revitalization Grants of $500,000 for West Side Flats site, $661,100 for the Pioneer/Endicott Building, and $49,900 for the Schmidt Brewery Bottle and Brew House site; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $2,515,626 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2011 budget and recommends the changes to the 2011 budget identified on Attachment A:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul accepts these grants and approves the changes identified on Attachment A to the 2011 budget.
