Amending the 1975 Phalen-Keller Regional Park Master Plan.
Body
WHEREAS, members of the community and the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation determined the need to update the Phalen - Keller Regional Park that was created and approved in 1975; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation organized a design advisory task force consisting of representatives from Saint Paul Districts Two and Five, Friends of Parks and Trails, City of Maplewood, City of Little Canada, Ramsey County, and other interested community members, to assist the Design Team with the development of a revised Master Site Plan which is the basis of the amendment to the Metropolitan Council approved Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Phalen - Keller Regional Park Design Advisory Task Force recommended approval of the revised Site Plan on July 15, 2010 with the understanding that there will be additional Design Advisory Task Force input opportunities as implementation of key elements are funded; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks Commission recommended approval of the Master Plan Amendment on December 8, 2010; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves and adopts the Phalen - Keller Regional Park Master Plan Amendment and authorizes the submission of said master plan amendment to the Metropolitan Council for review and approval.
