Accepting the gift of travel expenses from the Knight Foundation for Councilmember Saura Jost and Library Director Maureen Hartman to attend the Knight Foundation Library Leaders Convening and Knight Media Forum from February 17 - February 20, 2025 in Miami, Florida.

WHEREAS, The Knight Foundation will convene library leaders from across the country to explore ever-evolving landscape of library and information science and participate in the Knight Media Forum by adding a library perspective to critical conversations with leaders in philanthropy, journalism and technology to discuss issues related to local news, community engagement, and the health of democracy; and
WHEREAS, this year’s program will take place from February 17- February 20 in Miami, Florida.
WHEREAS, Councilmember Saura Jost has been invited to join as Chair of the Saint Paul Public Library Agency Library Board; and
WHEREAS, Maureen Hartman has been invited to join other national library leaders as Library Director; and
WHEREAS, the Knight Foundation has offered to cover the travel expenses and lodging for Councilmember Jost and Director Hartman to attend; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening is beneficial to the City by providing an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge, share successes, and to develop a professional network; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses and lodging for Councilmember Jost and Library Director Maureen Hartman to attend the conference, and thanks the Knight Foundation for its generous gift.
