Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $1,211,812 by increasing spending in Parkland Dedication, through the use of fund balance and increasing spending for the Como Shuttle and Great River Passage budgets to reflect funding received from legacy grants.

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to increase the 2024 budgets for the Como Shuttle ($200,000), Great River Passage ($117,724) and Parkland Dedication ($894,088); and

 

WHEREAS, the Como Shuttle and Great River Passage budgets have already been amended to reflect legacy grant funds received at the project budget level (RES PH 23-350), but this amendment is to recognize these funds in the 2024 Adopted Budget, and 

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the budget in the 2024 Parkland Dedication fund by a total of $894,088, using previously accumulated fund balance to increase the current year budget to transfer Parkland Dedication funds to previously approved capital projects; and 

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the 2024 Como Shuttle Grant Fund budget by a total of $200,000, establishing sufficient spending at the accounting unit level for planned 2024 spending; and 

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the 2024 Great River Passage Grant Fund Budget by a total of $117,724, establishing sufficient spending at the accounting unit level for planned 2024 spending; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $317,724 in excess of those estimated in the 2024 Grant Fund Budget and funds of $894,088 in excess of those estimated in the 2024 Parkland Dedication Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, approves these amendments to the 2024 Budget.
