Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter 3M’s Network Access Agreement for Right Track, the City's youth training and employment program’s engagement in the 3M STEP (Science Training Encouragement Program) for summer 2024 (which includes indemnification language).
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is prepared to enter 3M Network Access Agreement for Right Track’s engagement in the 3M STEP Program and provide Right Track’s 3M interns access to the 3M Network; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement requires the City of Saint Paul to indemnify and defend 3M against certain claims; and
WHEREAS, the mission of Right Track is to connect Saint Paul youth and young adults with meaningful work experience, training and career exploration opportunities so they are prepared to thrive and prosper; and,
WHEREAS, the Right Track program is prepared to and engage 24 Saint Paul Public School’s students in summer internship experiences alongside 3M scientists and to provide work readiness trainings as well as job coaching.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Right Track program has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into 3M’s Network Access Agreement which includes indemnification language for Right Track, the City of Saint Paul's youth training and employment program’s engagement in the 2024 3M STEP Program.
