Making finding on the appealed substantial abatement ordered for 829 THIRD STREET EAST in Council File RLH RR 23-16. (Amend: grant additional 180 days)

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted RLH RR 23-16 on July 12, 2023 which granted 180 days to repair the structure, correct all of the deficiencies listed in the Order to Abate Nuisance Building and the Code Compliance Report at 829 Third Street East; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer reviewed this case on January 16 and February 15, 2024 to determine if the owner and/or responsible party abated the nuisance conditions and found these conditions were not abated and building inspections estimated the project was 20% complete but will grant an additional 180 days and continue the $5,000 performance deposit as approved work plan was submitted, but require that an additional $5,000 performance deposit be posted by February 27, 2024;
WHEREAS, the additional $5,000 performance deposit was posted on February 26, 2024; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council stays action on its finding pending recommendation of the legislative hearing officer.
