Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $813,236 to reflect additional 2024 funding expected from Como Friends.

Body

WHEREAS, Como Friends is a registered not-for-profit organization formed to promote, support, preserve and enhance the Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory; and

WHEREAS, the Como Friends' mission is to advance Como Park Zoo and Conservatory as a destination where people from all walks of life can gather, learn and enjoy the natural world; and

WHEREAS, Como Friends is donating an additional $813,236 to support and enhance the Japanese Garden and the Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to establish new budgets in the Grant Fund to receive the projected contribution and donation revenues of $70,000 for the Tree Pruning, $30,000 for Conservation Champions Program, $35,000 for the Nature Walk Support & Supplies, $30,000 for the Ambassador Animal, $30,000 for the Zoo Safety and Locks, $25,000 for the Animal Care and Welfare, $23,000 for the Hort Safety, $20,000 for the Vet Care, $20,000 for the Bus Scholarships, $25,000 for the Campus Benches, $20,000 for the Campus Plants, $20,000 for the Zoo Grounds Trees, $20,000 for the Orangutan Outdoor Habitat Facelift, $20,000 for the Bird Wall and Patio, $20,000 for the Lactation Pod, $15,000 for the Aquatics Holding Supplies, $15,000 for the Orangutan Camera System, $15,000 for the New Ed Programs & Marketing, $15,000 for the Nyala Yard Update, $10,000 for the Orangutan Skylights, $9,000 for the Interp Signs, $6,929 for the Salt Spreader & Tires, $3,500 for the Bathroom Inclusion, $2,500 for the Interp Biofacts, $1,000 for the Wood Chipper, $61,325 for the Auditorium Sound, $151,000 for the Sunken Garden Vents, $4,300 for the Volunteer Uniforms, $36,440 for the Woodland Park Wolf Woods Signs, $59,242 for the Woodland Curriculum; and
