Whereas the Minnesota Music Café is owned by Karen Palm, who has shown a deep commitment to the local music scene and the musicians themselves; and
Whereas the Minnesota Music Cafe is a beloved live music venue located just outside of Downtown Saint Paul on the Eastside of Saint Paul on Payne Avenue; and
Whereas the Minnesota Music Café hosts blues, R&B, reggae, jazz, heavy metal and all genres of music & rock shows and has just celebrated its 26th year in business in Saint Paul; and
Whereas the Minnesota Music Café is one of the only bars that, over its 26-year history, has consistently given those from all walks of life African American bands a place to perform in the city of Saint Paul; some of the artists that have performed at the Minnesota Music Cafe include The Good, The Bad and The Funky, Sounds of Blackness, The GAP Band, JayBee & The Routine featuring the legendary Jellybean Johnson, Wee Willie Walker, Cornbred Harris, Jamecia Bennett, Maurice Jacox, Gwen Matthews, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Yolande Bruce, Johnny Lang, Debbie Duncan, GB Leighton, Ray Covington, The Jets, The Steeles, Kathleen & Rhonda Johnson, High & Mighty, The MAXX Band, Westside Band, Johnnie Brown, International Reggae All-Stars, R-Factor, Corey Medina & Brothers, Ipso Facto, Function Junction, Roxxy Hall Band and many other amazing musicians who are part of the Minnesota Music Café family with artists from Prince, Wee Willie Walker, The Steeles, and the International Reggae All-Stars; and
Whereas the Minnesota Music Café is owned by Karen Palm, who has shown a deep commitment to local music scene and the musicians themselves; and
Whereas during COVID during the closure of live music venues during the pandemic, Karen raised money for out of work musicians by assembling a DVD of many of the artists who performed at the venue the Minnesota Music Cafe, dedicating all the proceeds to the musicians; an...
