Authorizing the Department of Safety and Inspections to apply for a grant in the amount of $65,000 from the Minnesota Department of Labor, to participate in the 2024 Building Official Training (BOT) grant program.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Safety and Inspections, is eligible to receive a grant in the amount of $65,000 which requires no matching funds; and
WHEREAS, Section 86.12 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code requires City Council approval prior to submission of grant applications by city departments; and
WHEREAS, this grant provides an opportunity to invest in the professional development of a building official with the intention of employment after the training has concluded; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that support is hereby granted for the Department of Safety and Inspections application for the 2024 BOT grant program through the Minnesota Department of Labor.
