Accepting the gift of travel expenses from the National Organization of Black County Officials for Mayor Melvin Carter to attend the NOBCO 2023 Economic Development Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 19, 2023.

WHEREAS, the National Organization of Black County Officials is a nonprofit organization that supports elected and appointed county officials throughout the United States by providing education, training and best practices in government; and
WHEREAS, the NOBCO 2023 Economic Development Conference will bring together a coalition of African American elected and appointed officials within county government for all 50 states to discuss health equity, civil rights, economic development, public safety, and environmental justice; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter will be a featured speaker during the conference; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds Mayor Carter’s attendance at the NOBCO 2023 Economic Development Conference will be beneficial to the City, providing an opportunity to promote our efforts in Saint Paul, while further cultivating opportunities to support our community; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of travel expenses to include travel for Mayor Carter to attend the NOBCO 2023 Economic Development Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 19, 2023, and thanks the National Organization of Black County Officials for its generous gift.
