Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $65,600 for the 2022 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Grant.

Body

WHEREAS the Fire Department applied for and received a grant of $65,600 from the State of Minnesota for the 2022 Hazardous Materials Preparedness (HMEP) Grant to provide hazardous materials training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant includes an in-kind match of $16,400 which will be met with firefighter salaries that are attending the training; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department received approval to apply for this grant on RES 23-1383; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation of funds of $65,600 in excess of those estimated in the 2023 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following additional changes be made to the 2023 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accept the grant and hereby approves the changes to the 2023 budget referenced in this resolution, and furthermore authorizes the appropriate city officials to approve the 2022 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant.
