Recognizing the City of Laasanod, Sool for their formation of a transitional state in Somalia.

WHEREAS, the community of Laasanod, Sool has demonstrated remarkable dedication and leadership in the formation of a transitional state in Somalia; and
WHEREAS, the community of Laasanod, Sool in the state of Khatumo recently held the peaceful elections held in Laasanod which have showcased the community's commitment to democratic processes and the promotion of peace; and
WHEREAS, the progress made by Laasanod in creating peace and stability in the region has had a positive impact on the lives of its residents and the surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, members of the diaspora from Laasanod that reside in the City of Saint Paul have made significant contributions to the cultural fabric and community development of our great city; and now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council recognizes and commends the community of Laasanod, Sool for their formation of a transitional state in Somalia; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council appreciates recognizes the peaceful elections conducted by Laasanod city officials and acknowledges the progress made in promoting peace and stability in the region; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council expresses gratitude to members of the diaspora from Laasanod who now call Saint Paul home for their valuable contributions to the City of Saint Paul; be it finally
RESOLVED, that this resolution be presented to Laasanod, Sool as a Certificate of Honor and Recognition on behalf of the Saint Paul City Council.
