WHEREAS, The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund), hosted the 2023 National Convening on Local Consumer Financial Protection on June 22, 2023, in Washington, D.C., and
WHEREAS, the CFE Fund invited Saint Paul Assistant City Attorney, Edmundo D. Lijo to attend the 2023 National Convening on Local Consumer Financial Protection: and
WHEREAS, this Convening offered an opportunity to learn and strategize on how local governmental entities can develop a pro-active agenda that will increase their ability to address consumer protection issues; and
WHEREAS, the CFE Fund has offered to pay for the transportation, meals, and lodging expenses for Assistant City Attorney Edmundo D. Lijo to attend this Convening, and
WHEREAS, the educational and networking opportunities offered through this Convening are of significant benefit to the City of Saint Paul and our residents, and
WHEREAS, participation in the National Convening on Local Consumer Financial Protection provided an opportunity to acquire technical knowledge to develop and improve the City of Saint Paul’s consumer protection and community engagement programming; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of travel expenses to include travel, lodging, and meals for Assistant City Attorney Edmundo D. Lijo attendance at the National Convening on Local Consumer Financial Protection on June 22, 2023 in Washington, D.C. and thanks the CFE Fund for its generous gift.
