Accepting the gift of travel expenses from the Aspen Institute for Mayor Melvin Carter to attend the Aspen VisionXChange 2023 in Aspen, Colorado, from July 30-August 2, 2023.

WHEREAS, the Aspen Institute is a global nonprofit organization committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society driving change through dialogue, leadership, and action to help solve the most important challenges facing the United States and the world; and
WHEREAS, the VisionXChange conference will bring together the Aspen Institute Ascend Fellows around substantive themes that speak to this unique moment in history as well as providing sessions on those topics; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter will be a featured speaker during the conference; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds Mayor Carter’s attendance at the Aspen VisionXChange will be beneficial to the City, providing an opportunity to promote our efforts in Saint Paul, while further cultivating opportunities to support our community; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of travel expenses to include travel, lodging, and meals for Mayor Carter to attend the Aspen VisionXChange from July 30 - August 2, 2023, in Aspen, Colorado, and thanks the Aspen Institute for its generous gift.
