Approving the Mayor’s reappointment of Kevin Gallatin to a two-year term on the MSP International Airport Noise Oversight Committee.
Body
WHEREAS, the MSP Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) was established in August 2002 as an advisory board appointed to address aircraft noise issues associated with MSP; and
WHEREAS, the MSP Noise Oversight Committee is a 12-member committee made up of six community representatives and six aviation industry representatives that provide airport noise-related policy recommendations to the Metropolitan Airports Commission; and
WHEREAS, the MSP Noise Oversight Committee is made of members respectively representing the cities of Saint Paul, Apple Valley, Burnsville, Edina, Inver Grove Heights, Sunfish Lake, and St. Louis Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul appoints one representative who participates in the at-large community representative election process and acts as the primary contact on behalf of Saint Paul with the at-large community representative group; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council approved Mayor Carter’s appointment of Kevin Gallatin as an at-large Community Representative on the MSP International Airport Noise Oversight Committee (RES 21-926) for a term ending June 25, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Gallatin has expressed his desire to be reappointed as a member of the MSP International Airport Noise Oversight Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to reappoint Kevin Gallatin as an at-large Community Representative on the MSP International Airport Noise Oversight Committee for a two-year term ending on June 30, 2025; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves Mayor Carter’s reappointment of Kevin Gallatin to a two-year term ending June 30, 2025, as a member of the MSP International Airport Noise Oversight Committee.
