Approving the use of grant funds through the Ward 6 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program for Wyld Chyldz LLC.
Body
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2023, the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed one proposal for STAR grant financing through the Ward 6 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program from Wyld Chyldz LLC to expand their business into the neighboring storefront that shares a wall with their business; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood STAR Board rated the grant request on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high) with Wyld Chyldz LLC receiving a 5.0 final score; and
WHEREAS, due to the community significance of Wyld Chyldz LLC, a waiver to City Council approved Neighborhood STAR Guidelines is being recommended to eliminate the $1 for $1 private match; and
WHEREAS, due to the community significance of Wyld Chyldz LLC, a waiver to City Council approved Neighborhood STAR Guidelines is being recommended to eliminate the required application fee; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to participate in the financing of this activity by providing grant financing up to $15,000 to Wyld Chyldz LLC to expand their business into the neighboring storefront through the Ward 6 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program; now be it
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the necessary grant documents to implement this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
