Accepting the donation of travel and lodging expenses from Visit Saint Paul for Nicolle Goodman to attend the American Society of Association Executives annual meeting convening in Atlanta, Georgia from August 05-08, 2023.

WHEREAS, Nicolle Goodman, Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development, has been invited by Visit Saint Paul to attend the American Society of Association Executives annual and tradeshow and to learn from other professionals held in in Atlanta, Georgia from August 05-08, 2023; and
WHEREAS, attending the American Society of Association Executives annual meeting will be an opportunity for the City of Saint Paul to hear from national leaders on a variety of relevant topics such as optimizing social impact, social justice issues, organizational capacity building, and human resources strategies for leadership professionals; and
WHEREAS, the convening will be attended by administrators and partners that have expertise and experience in key policy/programs that the Department of Planning and Economic Development has interest in for the betterment of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, Visit Saint Paul has offered to donate funds to the City of Saint Paul to cover all expenses related to transportation, hotel reservation, and food expenses for Director Nicolle Goodman; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minn. Stat. 465.03, the City is allowed to accept, by a resolution adopted by a two-thirds majority of the City Council, a grant or devise of real or personal property in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at the American Society of Association Executives annual meeting benefits the City by providing an opportunity for staff to learn from related best practices across the nation; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of tradeshow registration, airfare, transportation, hotel, and meal expenses from Visit Saint Paul for the American Society of Association Executives annual meeting so that Nicolle Goodman may attend, and thanks them for their generosity.
