Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to donate staff time and plant material from Como Park Zoo and Conservatory to Minneapolis Institute of Art’s Art in Bloom event.

WHEREAS, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory and the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA) are two of the most visited cultural attractions in the Twin Cities offering free experiences; and
WHEREAS, the MIA hosts an annual Art in Bloom event that attracts 30,000 museum attendees; and
WHEREAS, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory staff will create and install a display using in-house plant material that will be featured for a month long event at the MIA, including signage; and
WHEREAS, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory’s participation will promote Como to the community and add to the ongoing partnership with the MIA; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the donation of staff time and plant material to the MIA’s Art in Bloom event.
