Title

Pertaining to an Amendment No. 1 to Automated Metering Infrastructure Site Lease Agreement with the City of Saint Paul to install AMI equipment on siren poles maintained by the City’s Department of Emergency Management.

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Board intends to institute a Leak Audit Pilot Program using an integrated system of smart meters, communications networks, and data management that enables two-way communication between SPRWS and its customers known as Automated Metering Infrastructure (“AMI”); and

WHEREAS, the City owns and operates siren poles in Ramsey County, State of Minnesota, at various locations; and

WHEREAS, the Board and the City entered into an Automated Metering Infrastructure Site Lease Agreement dated January 10, 2023 (the “Lease”) which leased space to the Board to install AMI equipment upon the poles at five locations; and

WHEREAS, the Board desires to install more of such equipment on other siren poles and the City is willing to grant permissions to the Board to do so; and

WHEREAS, Board staff has drafted an Amendment No. 1 to the Lease which adds all siren pole locations owned and operated by the City’s Department of Emergency Management to the previously approved locations; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that Amendment No. 1 to Automated Metering Infrastructure Site Lease Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul to include all of the City’s Siren Poles operated and maintained by the City of Saint Paul Department of Emergency Management is hereby approved in substantially the form submitted and the proper officers of the Board are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Site Lease Agreement following approval by the assistant city attorney; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Honorable Council of the City of Saint Paul is hereby requested to approve said Site Lease Agreement and to authorize and direct the proper officers of the City of Saint Paul to execute said Site Lease Agreement on behalf of the City.
