Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $92,857.14 to accept the 2021 Fire Prevention & Safety Grant to purchase supplies for the Project Safe Haven program.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $97,500 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program which has a federal share of $92,857.14  and a 5% matching fund contribution of $4,642.86 to purchase supplies for the Project Safe Haven program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department received approval to apply for this grant on Resolution 22-237; and

 

WHEREAS, federal law requires a 5% matching fund contribution and the Fire Department match of $4,642.86 will be paid from 10022300-72255-2210022000-72255; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation of funds $92,857.14 in excess of those estimated in the 2022 budget; now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the grant and approves the changes to the 2022 budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
