Authorizing the Fire Department to enter into a joint powers agreement with Ramsey County for a mental health crisis worker to coordinate with the CARES team.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minn. Stat. Section 471.59 two or more governmental units, by agreement entered into through action of their governing bodies, may jointly or cooperatively exercise any power common to the contracting parties or may provide for the exercise of such powers by one or more of the participating governmental units on behalf of the other participating units; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County and the City of Saint Paul through its Fire Department will provide a mental health crisis worker to coordinate with the CARES team in the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department will reimburse Ramsey County costs associated with this position; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a joint powers agreement with Ramsey County for the mental health crisis worker; a copy of said agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Fire Department.
