Approving the Mayor’s reappointment of Michael Lukes to a two-year term on the Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization.
Body
WHEREAS, The Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization was formed in response to the requirements of the Metropolitan Surface Water Management Act (“Chapter 509,” now recodified to Minnesota Statutes 103B); and
WHEREAS, the Act required, among other things, the preparation of watershed management plans in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan area; and
WHEREAS, Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization is operated by a Board of Managers appointed from each city in the Watershed Management Organization; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Anthony Park Community Council board of directors has recommended Michael Lukes, a resident within portion of the watershed boundary within the City of Saint Paul, to represent the City of Saint Paul on this board; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Michael Lukes to the Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of Michael Lukes to a two-year term on the Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization ending August 31, 2024.
