Authorizing the City to enter into an agreement with Metropolitan Council for the operation and maintenance of the Metropolitan Council’s Transit Signal Priority System.
Body
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council owns a Transit Signal Priority (TSP) System, which enhances transit vehicle operations in the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, with consent from the City, the Metropolitan Council has installed the TSP System on property owned or controlled by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City and County entered into a Joint Powers Agreement addressing maintenance of roadways under County jurisdiction within the City (Ramsey County Resolution 93-643 and The City of Saint Paul Council File 93-1974), wherein the City is identified as responsible for operation and minor maintenance of certain traffic signals along roadways under County jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Metropolitan Council have determined that it is in their best interest to enter into this Agreement, which sets forth the terms and conditions for operation and maintenance of the Metropolitan Council’s TSP System located on City property; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to enter into Metropolitan Council Agreement No. 20I072, a copy of which is before Council and is made a part hereof; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
