Accepting the gift of travel expenses from Woodland Park Zoo for Bekah Hanes to attend the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland from Aug 28-Sept 2, 2022.

WHEREAS, Woodland Park Zoo manages the Advancing Conservation through Empathy (ACE) for Wildlife Network; and
WHEREAS, the ACE for Wildlife Network is hosting a panel at the AZA Annual Conference; and
WHEREAS, Bekah Hanes, Co-Chair of the ACE for Wildlife Steering Committee, has been invited to participate in the panel; and
WHEREAS, ACE for Wildlife has awarded Bekah Hanes an ACE for Wildlife Scholarship Award to attend the AZA Annual Conference and panel; and
WHEREAS, Woodland Park Zoo has offered to cover up to $2,000 for registration, travel, and lodging; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening is beneficial to the City by providing an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge, and development of a professional network; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift registration, travel, and lodging for Bekah Hanes to attend the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland from Aug 28-Sept 2, 2022.
