Pertaining to the retirement of Saint Paul Regional Water Services Production Division Manager, Jim Bode.
Body
WHEREAS, Jim Bode faithfully served the Board of Water Commissioners and the customers of Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) for nearly 36 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode began his career at SPRWS in September 1986 as a water laboratory aide and had earned promotions to water quality specialist 1, 2, and 3, served as a water quality supervisor, eventually earning a promotion to Production Division Manager in November 2014, the position at which he is retiring; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode steadfastly represented the Board in matters of source water protection in conjunction with officials from the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization, the City of Minneapolis, and the City Saint Cloud; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode tirelessly worked to ensure the production of the highest level of water quality including the studying, testing, and implementation of highly successful carbon filtering improvements; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode provided strong leadership and guidance during the design phase of a once in a generation investment in improvements to the McCarron’s Water Treatment Plant that will serve the Board’s customers for the next 50+ years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode personified the Board’s commitment to provide reliable, quality
water and services at a reasonable cost during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode selflessly served as the “curmudgeon in the room” for countless discussions and by doing so provided highly valuable contributions to the success of many projects; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bode will retire from Saint Paul Regional Water Services effective June 17, 2022; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners hereby commends Jim Bode for his outstanding and dedicated leadership throughout his nearly 36 years of public service; and, be it
