Authorizing the City to enter into a License Agreement for Metro Transit Bus Pad Improvements at the Arlington Hills Community Center.

WHEREAS, the City owns the property located at 1200 Payne Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55130 (“Park”); and
WHEREAS, Metro Transit operates and administers transit operations in the seven-county metropolitan area and wishes to add bus stops at certain underserviced areas and to comply with site accessibility requirements; and
WHEREAS, Metro Transit wishes to install a bus shelter pad and shelter on a portion of the Park owned by City of Saint Paul that will be used as a bus stop upon installation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will be benefit by the improved transit access to the Park; and
WHEREAS, at its May 12, 2022 meeting, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Commission supported the installation of a bus shelter and pad at Arlington Hills Community Center and the approval of the corresponding license agreement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul City Council authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into a license agreement between the City and Metro Transit for transit improvements at Arlington Hills Community Center.
