Accepting the gift of the costs of travel, food, and lodging from Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM), so that Russ Stark attends the GCoM USA Networking Event Workshop at Kansas City (KC) Climate Week, between April 6th and 9th, 2022.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul via Mayor Carter has signed onto to the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy and has established itself as a nationally leading City in climate action; and
WHEREAS, GCoM is convening representatives from several European and North American regions and cities at a workshop in Kansas City, Missouri April 6-9 2022 to share information about best practices in order to advance their respective work in climate action; and
WHEREAS, GCoM has offered to pay all expenses for CRO Russ Stark to attend the workshop; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that CRO Stark’s attendance at the workshop will be beneficial to the City in providing deeper understanding of approaches to equitable climate action; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of up to $2,000 toward the cost of travel, food, and lodging expenses for CRO Russ Stark to attend the GCoM USA Networking Event Workshop at Kansas City Climate Week, and thanks GCoM for its generous gift.
