Approving the application of the Saint Anthony Park Community Council for the installation of public art in the public right of way on the northeast corner of Territorial Road at Carleton Street for a 5-year period.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Anthony Park Community Council (SAPCC) wishes to install an architect-designed sculpture with a seat and two planters adjacent to the sidewalk at the northeast corner of Territorial Road at Carleton Street; and,
WHEREAS, RES 19-1622 adopted by City Council on September 18, 2019, provides the permitting policy and process for the review and approval of public art proposed in the right of way, and sets forth general conditions for artwork installation; and,
WHEREAS, SAPCC has submitted complete and proper applications for the project which meet all conditions laid out in RES 19-1622; and,
WHEREAS, as outlined in the approval process of RES 19-1622, Public Works has reviewed SAPCC’s application and the Director of Public Works has convened a panel to evaluate the proposal; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works is recommending approval of the application,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saint Paul grants approval to Public Works to authorize the installation of the public art project in the right of way.
