Purpose of Appeal: We are appealing two fire Inspection Correction Notice both in reference to the same issue regarding a "void space" that was created when a structure was demolished between the 3M 680-690 hangar buildings at the Downtown St. Paul Airport. WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of Daniel Burgess, 3M Aviation, to a Fire Certificate of Occupancy Correction Notice at 680-690 Bayfield Street, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant the appeal on the conditions that by August 1, 2022 1) within the 680 hanger, the larger of the 2 non-sprinklered spaces, or void areas, the ceiling is patched on the sloped portion above the existing sprinklers heads at the base of the wall; and 2) a partial wall or physical barrier to the larger open area be installed to prevent it being used as storage or other occupied space; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
