Title

Authorizing the City of St. Paul to enter into an Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation relating to professional and technical services for the Robert Street Corridor in Downtown St. Paul (SP 6217-51), which will be reconstructed in 2025 and 2026.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and MnDOT plan to reconstruct Robert Street between the Mississippi River Bridge to I-94; and

 

WHEREAS, Robert Street is currently a MnDOT trunk highway (TH 3); and

 

WHEREAS, in May 2020 MnDOT and the City of St. Paul agreed in a Memorandum of Understanding that the corridor be turned back to the City of St. Paul in 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, MnDOT has agreed through this agreement to pay for most of the design expenses for the project; and

 

WHEREAS, MnDOT has reviewed and accepted the proposed scope of services from the design consultant; and

 

WHEREAS, MnDOT has agreed to pay $2,323,115.01 for these services; and

 

WHEREAS, St. Paul Regional Water Services will be financially contributing toward water main design services as part of the consulting contract; and

 

WHEREAS, this agreement requires the of Saint Paul to indemnify the State of Minnesota, which council finds reasonable and necessary to advance the project; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to enter into MnDOT Agreement 1046603, a copy of which is before Council and is made a part hereof; and be it finally

 

RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
