Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Emergency Management budget in the amount of $106,520 to accept the additional funding for the 2020 Emergency Management Performance COVID-19 Supplemental Grant (EMPG-S) for PPE supplies, decontamination services, air cleaners, storage pods, and salaries and fringes for Emergency Management staff.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul received a grant of $15,000 from the State of Minnesota for the 2020 Emergency Management Performance COVID-19 Supplemental Grant (EMPG-S) to provide the city with storage for PPE and EOC storage needs, and this was approved on Council Resolution PH 20-248; and

 

WHEREAS, there was additional funding available so Emergency Management applied for and received $106,520 from the State of Minnesota to pay for PPE supplies, decontamination services, air cleaners, storage pods, and salaries and fringes for Emergency Management staff; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for this grant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $106,520 in the Emergency Management Grant Fund; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following addition be made to the 2021 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the grant, and hereby approves the changes to the 2021 budget referenced in the resolution, and furthermore authorizes the appropriate city officials to execute and implement the grant agreement for the 2020 Emergency Management Performance COVID-19 Supplemental Grant (EMPG-S).
