Accepting the 2022 Toward Zero Death Enforcement Program grant with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) has been awarded thee 2022 Toward Zero Death Enforcement Program grant with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety; and
WHEREAS, this grant is funded by the U. S. Department of Transportation’s State and Community Highway Safety Program and will be used for overtime enforcement to address all traffic safety issues with an emphasis on impaired driving, occupant protection, speed and distracted driving; and
WHEREAS, upon receiving the final budget award, a portion of the grant will be sub-awarded to local law enforcement agencies participating in the program as identified in the application; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the city council accepts this grant from the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety.
