Approving an agreement with MnDOT related to cost participation for Capital improvements and release of right-of-way along and adjacent to I-94 and I-35E.

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is proposing to perform improvements related to ADA compliance, storm sewers, traffic signal revisions, and sidewalk construction and repair along and adjacent to I-94 and I-35E; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT has requested the City participate in funding certain aspects of the improvements subject to MnDOT’s cost participation policy; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT has proposed releasing right-of-way to the City of Saint Paul in the area of 9th Street and Wacouta Street and has proposed to compensate the City for that release; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT has requested that the City enter into an agreement to perform certain maintenance activities on sidewalks including, snow, ice, and debris removal, patching, crack repair, panel replacement, cross street pedestrian crosswalk markings, mowing grass boulevards, and other maintenance activities; and
WHEREAS, the limits of the sidewalks covered by the agreement are identified within the agreement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City of St. Paul enter into MnDOT Agreement No. 1045369 with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate City employees and officials are authorized to execute the agreement and any amendments to the agreement.
