Appeal of Madeline Brozen and Mehmet Berker, to a Vacant Building Registration Renewal Notice at 1234 RICE STREET.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, October 12, 2021, teleconference between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  Our property was vacant as a result of arson in late 2020.  We have been diligently rehabbing the unit and will be requesting a certificate of occupancy very shortly and then will be putting the unit on the rental market.  We are requesting a 90 day extension from the re-registration date to have the property occupied with a new tenant.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Madeline Brozen and Mehmet Berker, to a Vacant Building Registration Renewal Notice at 1234 RICE STREET, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive the vacant building fee for 90 days to January 20, 2022; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
