Accepting a donation of professional services from Natural Resources Defense Council and Bloomberg Philanthropies.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (City) and the Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. (NRDC), entered into a Memorandum of Understanding dated April 5, 2019 to support the City’s work with the American Cities Climate Challenge, and executed an amendment dated Dec. 15, 2020 which expired on June 30,2021; and
WHEREAS, City and NDRC have agreed to a new MOU effective through June 30, 2022, and as part of the ongoing agreement NRDC will continue to provide professional services including the services of a Climate Advisor to work at the City, with all salary and benefits paid by NRDC through a grant with Bloomberg Philanthropies; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that accepting the donation of these professional services and the services of the Climate Advisor will assist the City in implementing its priority climate actions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City accepts the donation of services of the American Cities Climate Challenge Climate Advisor and other professional services until June 30, 2022 and thanks NDRC and Bloomberg Philanthropies for their generous gift.
