Amending the Public Works grant budget for a local match contribution of $350,000 from partner subgrantee City of Minneapolis.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is leading the Twin Cities Electric Vehicle Mobility Network (TCEVMN) project which will deliver 70 EV (electric vehicle) charging hubs across Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and each hub will provide both public EV charging and EV charging dedicated to use by an EV carshare service that will be operated by HOURCAR; and
WHEREAS, in collaboration with American Lung Association, Xcel Energy, HOURCAR, and East Metro Strong, with American Lung Association as the lead applicant, the City pursued federal Department of Energy funding to support the TCEVMN and also to fund an additional pilot program through which HOURCAR and Xcel will offer EV carshare within multi-family residential developments in the Twin Cities; and
WHEREAS, Minneapolis will contribute $350,000 in local funds to the Project to meet the necessary local match for Federal funding. Unequal local contributions from each city shall result in a pro-rated distribution of charging station locations per city - 32 EV Spots in Minneapolis and 38 EV Spots in Saint Paul.; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to lease electric vehicles from partner HourCar and for professional labor related to signage and other site-work; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $350,000 is available for appropriation in the Elect V Charging Stations budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:
