Authorizing the City to enter into a License Agreement for Metro Transit Bus Pad Improvements at Como Regional Park.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul owns the property located at Como Park, 1250 Kaufman Drive (Parcel #222923440003), Saint Paul, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, Metro Transit operates and administers transit operations in the seven-county metropolitan area and wishes to add bus stops at certain underserviced areas and to comply with site accessibility requirements; and
WHEREAS, Metro Transit wishes to install a Bus Pad on a portion of property owned by the City of Saint Paul that will be used as a bus stop upon installation, the location and general plans of which are depicted in the attached Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will benefit by the improved transit access to the surrounding park’s space; and
WHEREAS, at their June 10, 2021 meeting, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Commission supported the installation of a bus stop in Como Park and approved moving forward to work to its completion: now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the City of Saint Paul City Council supports a license agreement between the City and Metro Transit for a bus pad at Como Regional Park.
