Title

Authorizing an increase in the Parks and Recreation Grant Fund Budget in the amount of $1,310,000 to reflect additional CDBG Cares grant funding awarded in 2021 for Family Distance Learning, Expanded Meal Access and Rec Center Covid Reporting Technology.  

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded an additional $620,000 in CDBG Cares funds for Family Distance Learning at Como Zoo and Conservatory; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded an additional $675,000 in CDBG Cares funds for the Expanded Meal Access program; and

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has been awarded an additional $15,000 in CDBG Cares funds for Rec Center Covid Reporting Technology; and

 

WHEREAS, none of the additional grant funding listed above requires any matching funds; and

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to establish these new budgets and amend the Grant Fund budget with spending plans for the additional funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $1,310,000 in excess of those estimated in the current Grant Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes these amendments for the Life-to-date Grant Budget.
