Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for grant funds of $2,000 from Twin Cities Public Television to support STEM learning.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to apply for $2,000 in grant funds from Twin Cities Public Television to support a STEM learning program pilot at Battle Creek, Dayton's Bluff, and Highwood Hills; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant funds, if awarded, will provide money to create and implement STEM curriculum to increase gender equity in science and technology; and

 

WHEREAS, if grant funds are awarded, the City will need to enter into a grant agreement with Twin Cities Public Television; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no required match of these funds by the City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that the expenditure of these funds to provide STEM curriculum to Saint Paul youth has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Parks and Recreation

Department to apply for grant funds of $2,000 from Twin Cities Public Television for a STEM learning program pilot at Battle Creek, Dayton's Bluff, and Highwood Hills.
