Approving an agreement with the City of Falcon Heights for maintenance of street lighting.

WHEREAS, the Cities of Saint Paul and Falcon Heights have enjoyed a longstanding partnership regarding maintenance of street lighting along streets that span the municipal border between the two Cities; and
WHEREAS, the Cities of Falcon Heights and Saint Paul entered into an agreement in 1998 regarding use of City of Saint Paul forces to maintain street lighting fixtures located within the City of Falcon Heights, and terms of reimbursement for that work; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County is proposing to reconstruct Cleveland Avenue from Como Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue beginning in 2021, including installation of new street lighting; and
WHEREAS, the project limits span the municipal border between the Cities of Saint Paul and Falcon Heights; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to replace the 1998 agreement between the Cities of Saint Paul and Falcon Heights to clarify the terms of the agreement and incorporate the new lighting fixtures to be constructed along Cleveland Avenue in 2021; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul enter into an agreement with the City of Falcon Heights for maintenance of light fixtures located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Falcon Heights.
