Appeal of Anthony Oxborough (agent for owner) to a Vacant Building Registration Notice at 1074 GRAND AVENUE.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 2:30 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  U.S. Bank Trust department manages this building for a long time client that has owned the building for many, many years.  The building is being marketed for lease and unfortunately, due to Covid, civil unrest, high taxes, etc., we have not been able to fill the vacancy.  Yes, it is vacant, but the property is being professionally managed, it is secure and real estate taxes are current.  Hopefully, we will find a new tenant soon and to be required to register would create an unfair financial burden as well as adding extra compliance requirements.

WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of Anthony Oxborough (agent for owner) to a Vacant Building Registration Notice at 1074 Grand Avenue, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant the appeal; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
