Title

Authorizing the Fire Department to enter into a joint powers agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Health to provide emergency medical standby services for the FEMA vaccination site at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Minn. Stat.471.59 permits two or more governmental units, by agreement entered into through action of their governing bodies, to enter into agreements to exercise jointly or cooperatively governmental powers common to each and to permit one governmental entity to perform services or functions for another governmental unit; and

 

WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Department of Health intends to engage the Saint Paul Fire Department to provide emergency medical standby services for the FEMA vaccination site at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul through its Fire Department is willing and able to provide the standby services desired by the State of Minnesota, Now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute the joint powers agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Health provided by the Saint Paul Fire Department; a copy of said agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Fire Department.
