Authorizing the Saint Paul Library Agency to accept a Book Donation from The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and give them away to the community.
Body
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library wishes to donate 100 copies of the book The Three Mothers: How the Mothers of Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and James Baldwin Shaped a Nation by Anna Malaika NtiAsara-Tubbs to the Saint Paul Library Agency; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Library Agency, in partnership with the Office of Financial Empowerment, wishes to accept this donation from the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library;
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Library Agency wishes to give these books away as part of a community giveaway; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Library Board finds that there is a public purpose in giving community members books that advance racial and gender justice in St. Paul; Now, Therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Library Board hereby accepts the donation of 100 copies of The Three Mothers: How the Mothers of Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcom X, and James Baldwin Shaped a Nation and hereby authorizes the Saint Paul Library Agency to give them away through a community giveaway.
